Linux version with DXE9 oder DX10?

Post by michaschumann » Tue 28 Jul 2015 17:04

Hello,

since Embarcadero talked about Linux backend support in one of the next versions (hopefully XE9, I want to retire Kylix3/IBX) my question for you: Will you then release a Linux version of Unidac too?

Thanks!
Michael

Hello,

As soon as RAD Studio supports Linux, we will support this platform in our products as well, but for RAD Studio only. Kylix has no longer been developed and not compatible with current Linux cores, so we won't resume support for this IDE.

Thanks for your answer,

of course I did not expect you to deal with Kylix, and I want to migrate away from it!

Judging by the roadmap, XE9 won't yet include support for Linux platforms. Currently, you can develop applications for Linux using Lazarus and our components.

Since the Application compiles and runs well with D2007 (as windows service) and Kylix 3 (as linux daemon) and the old IBX components I can wait for XE10...
