ODBC FILEMAKER Connection errors

Post by RichTat » Wed 05 Oct 2011 12:01

The TUnitTable and TUnitQUery coomponents used with the ODBC Provider to access a FILEMAKER .fp7 database gives me errors such as 'SQL statement doesn't return rows' and 'Unsupported metadata kind'. Does this mean that FILEMAKER ODBC connections are not supported ?

Hello,

We did not test UniDAC with the FILEMAKER database.
Please specify the ODBC driver you are trying to use to connect to the FILEMAKER database.

I use the ODBC driver FMODBC32.DLL provided by FILEMAKER V11.03.81.00 dated 2011-04-08 with FILEMAKER PRO Advanced. See link
http://www.filemaker.co.uk/support/tech ... /odbc.html
and reference 'Using FILEMAKER as a data source'.

There are disticnt advantages to using FILEMAKER as a remote hosted database because in addition to writing client applications you can use the inbuilt FILEMAKER database manipulation facilities which include 'instant web publishing' for web browser access to the database. This is why we require ODBC access to FILEMAKER.

Hello,

We've checked our UniDAC components on the FileMaker Pro 11.0v3 database and client 11.03.76.00, and we did not get any of the errors you specified on opening tables (neither in UniQuery nor in UniTable). So please send your database file and texts of the queries in which you get errors, and also specify your IDE version.

I have started afresh and created an example application for you and now I also get no errors !! Perhaps yesterday I was trying to create persistent fields when the table was not connected.

I must apologise for wasting your time. I will continue with my project and if I have any further queries on the FILEMAKER interface I will make another post.

Thank you for your support.
