I have just purchased MyDac 5 Std. I intend to use it with Borland C++ Builder in Developer Studio 2006. I have previously downloaded the trial and this works fine.

However I cannot see which version to download from your web site – there is no link for the BDS2006 version 9although there is a BDS2006 demo version). I tried the link for Delphi 2006 but this would not install and stated that mydac had detected already installed packages which are incompatible with the current version. I had already uninstalled the trial version of mydac and rebooted.

I have now unsinstalled all versions of MyDAC and tried to re-install and I keep getting the same message "mydac had detected already installed packages which are incompatible with the current version" I also canot re-installthe demo version - the installer runs but I get no components on the palette.

I have emails tech support but have received no answer as yet.

Anyone have any ideas

Please consult thistopic of MyDAC FAQ. It will help you to install the last build of MyDAC.

If you install MyDAC, but you still cannot see components on the MySQL Access palette tab, check if MyDAC packages are present in Disabled Packages of your IDE.
Open a registry editor (e.g. regedit.exe) and take a look at the following key: HKCU\Software\Borland\BDS\4.0\Disabled Packages. If there is a links to MyDAC packages (*mydac*.bpl, *dac*.bpl), just remove them and restart your IDE.

I am sorry Antaeus but the FAQ does not help. The first thing I did was uninstall the demo version using the control panel and this does not work. I have no CoreLabs components installed but I still get the same incompaitibility message when i try to install mydac500d10std.

I have just completely re-installed BDS2006 and I can still not install your components - it would seem that your uninstall program is not working correctly - PLEASE HELP - I have lost a day trying to sort this out.

You should install MyDAC with the force option: mydac500d10std /force. In this case the installation wizard will overwrite all files of the pervious MyDAC version.
