I am using now MyDAC 3.55.
Can I install MyDAC 5.00 and recompile my program without rewrite my code.
Do MyDAC 5.00 support MySql 4.0.18

Yes, you can. This will not force you to rewrite your code.
Do not forget to uninstall MyDAC 3.55 before installing the new version of MyDAC.

Yes, it does.
MyDAC is tested with MySQL 5.1, 5.0, 4.1, 4.0, 3.23.
