I have owned MyDAC for MySQL for Delphi 5 for years, and have been very satisfied. I am trying to install on a new PC. I installed Delphi 5, then MyDAC. All OK. I had to uninstall delphi for various reasons, and also uninstalled MyDac (I thought!). Reinstalled Delphi 5. Trying to run mydac500d5pro.exe comes up with 'Setup has detected already installed MyDAC packages. Please uninstall them and run this installation program once more'. What traces of the previous installation are hanging around that cause this problem?

I should have added that I am running Windows 7 professional

Such problem can occur if there are still files from the old MyDAC version on your computer. Please try the following:
- remove MyDAC;
- remove all *dac*.bpl and *crcontrols*.bpl files from your computer;
- remove *.dcu files from your project;
- reinstall MyDAC.

Andrey, thanks for your reply. Have done as instructed but still have the same error message appearing. Where do I go from here? Thanks Chris

Please try the following:
- remove MyDAC;
- reinstall MyDAC with the /force parameter like this: mydac500d5pro.exe /force
