DevArt Salesforce Data Flow Destination Module - Update behaving as Upsert

The company I work for is using DevArt SSIS Data Flow Components (v1.11.1097) to integrate with Salesforce.
We are using the DevArt Salesforce Destination module to Update data.
During testing of the Update, we found that if a record was not in Salesforce, it would be inserted as a new record.
In other words, the Update was behaving as an Upsert.
We have double checked and the Action is set to Update and is pointed at the correct object in Salesforce.
I have searched for any posts on this topic and have found none. Is this a known behaviour? Is it intentional?
