Hi All,
Oracle Database 12c
Devart Excel Add-in Version : 1.8.868.0
Microsoft Excel 2016 MSO (16.0.9126.2295) 32-bit
We recently purchased devart license and our goal is enter to/modify data in database table. We setup devart connection to database and was able to select the table and view data. Now if we try to enter new data or edit existing data, we get following error message.
Devart Excel Add-ins
---------------------------
ORA-29481: Implicit results cannot be returned to client.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SQL", line 2785
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SQL", line 2779
ORA-06512: at line 8
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Thanks
Ebin

Re: Unable to Enter/Modify data into Oracle DB table
This is a known issue when you use the Direct mode. Unfortunately, there is no any timeframe when it will be fixed.
You can use one of the following workaround:
1. On the Devart tab, click "Options" in the Help group. Then open Edit, clear the "Refresh all columns after commit" check box, and click OK. http://prntscr.com/ktzbae . Restart Excel.
2. If the first workaround does not help you, then use the OCI connection mode which requires Oracle Client.

Re: Unable to Enter/Modify data into Oracle DB table
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately first option didn't work. When using the OCI connection, I am getting error like ''CanNotObtainOracleClientFromRegistry32". Let me know how to resolve this ?
Thanks

We have fixed the issue. We will test Excel Add-ins in the near future and send you an internal build with the fix.
