Legacy platform compatibility (Windows/Oracle)

Post by nyxchadwick » Thu 04 May 2017 14:40

Hi All

Does anyone know whether the Devart Oracle ODBC driver should work on the Windows 2000 platform?
I did have a look about but I can't see which are the supported Windows versions (only the architecture).

It does install on Windows 2000 but when I try to add a DSN (after selecting the Devart driver),
instead of a configuration dialog an error pop-up is presented (The setup routines for the Devart
ODBC Driver for Oracle ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 1114.
).
The error is normally for a missing DLL so I'm wondering if that's a platform issue?

Many thanks to anyone who can shine a light on it!

Windows 2000 is an outdated system for quite a long time and not supported by Microsoft. Therefore, we did not check our ODBC drivers compatibility with this OS because will not be able to support it in case of any problems. Possibly, before using any ODBC driver in drivers for Windows 2000, you should have the latest compatible version of the data package Microsoft Access components (MDAC).
