Sybase (Netbackup) connection

Post by peterlAtBocada » Fri 15 Apr 2016 01:04

Installed Devart ODBC Driver for ASE to connect to NetBackup database.
Trying to test ODBC driver by adding DSN but fail to connect.

How can I connect to a remote host?
Appears that I need to provide Host name, Server name and Database name.

The 'Devart ODBC Driver' only has field for server and database.

I think in this case the server map to the host where the DB reside.
How do I enter server, which kind of like an instance on the host?

Is there special syntax to provide server name and how might the connection look like?

Could it be something like
Driver={Devart ODBC Driver for ASE};UID=user;PWD=password;Database=db;Server=server;Host=host;

Thanks

hello,

Currently, ODBC Driver for ASE has no support for ServiceName (different instances). We will add this feature shortly and inform you about it.
