Devart is glad to announce the release of the new version of dotConnect for DB2, ADO.NET provider for accessing DB2 databases, based on IBM DB2 .NET Data Provider, and providing better Entity Framework support, more features for ASP.NET projects, native SSIS Source and Destination components, dbMonitor support, and other features. New dotConnect for DB2 offers you support for Microsoft Sync Framework 2.1.

dotConnect for DB2 now provides DB2SyncProvider class, classes for provisioning and deprovisioning, and DB2SyncDescriptionBuilder class. Now you can easily synchronize your DB2 databases using dotConnect for DB2.

Entity Developer

• The bug with "DevartEntityDeploy" task, which generates mapping files, in Visual Studio 2013 Release Candidate is fixed

Entity Framework support

• The behaviour is changed: Code-First Migrations generates DEFAULT 0 for new NOT NULL columns of numeric types when adding them in the existing table
• The behaviour is changed: Code-First Migrations generates DEFAULT '' for new NOT NULL columns of string types when adding them in the existing table
