Unexpected authentication method from DB compare tool - PG 11

Hi,
Getting this error "Unexpected authentication method"(in the prompt window) when I tried to connect the Postgres 11 from DB compare tool. we couldn't able to connect the DB and not much log's also.
But the same DB, we are able to connect from other client like Dbeaver and from Java application also with same connection string what I used in the compare tool.
When I checked DB server logs I got below error
"authentication",2020-08-27 07:19:52 UTC,8/9779,0,LOG,08006,"could not receive data from client: Connection reset by peer",,,,,,,,,""
I'm not sure why with same connection string we are able to connect but from this tool i'm not.
can you please help on this ?
