Hi,

When I try to install the v.5.50 beta for D2005 in W2K pro with the latest patches, the Windows installer raises an exception that the installation package cannot be opened.

I have installed D2005 and the accompanied tools (like Rave report, OptimizeIT, etc). I also installed kbmMemTable 5.0 beta.

Is there any specific requirements? Does anyone have the same problem with W2K Pro?

It is possible that an error occurs while download, please try to download the package again.

I found the problem. The download is fine (actaully, I have downloaded 4 times), it is a problem with the virtual machine's shared folder.

I download the installation file onto my computer. Then I try to install it into my virtual machine by running the installation program from the VM shared folder (mapped to my computer - the VM host). It seems like this ODAC installation program does not like to be executed from a shared folder. I copy the installation file to the WUTemp folder in the VM and it installed successfully.

The strange thing is that I can install kbmMemTable, Fast report, EurekaLog from the shared folder. And I have another VM for D7 and the installation program for ODAC beta 5.50 and earlier version of D7 have no problem installing from this shared folder.

Anyway, problem solved. It is not as convenient though.

This issue may be caused by internal conflict between VM and WindowsInstaller.
