ODAC 5.70.1.34 and Oracle 11.2R2

Hello,

i'm still using ODAC 5.70.1.34 and my customer wants to update his database to the newest Oracle version (i guess 11.2R2).

Is it necessary for me to upgrade to ODAC 6.9 or should the client application (written in Delphi 7) work as well against the "new" database?

In the version history of ODAC i found that ODAC 6.25 was the first to support Oracle 11.2 but does that mean that earlier versions are not reliable or does it mean that earlier versions only not support new features of Oracle 11.2?

I do not use Oracle very often, that's why i did not already upgrade to the new version of ODAC.

Any comments are very welcome.

Hello

Since the version 6.25.0.12 ODAC supports connecting to the Oracle 11g server (including 11.1 and 11.2 versions). We didn't test previous versions for compatibility with Oracle 11g and we cannot guarantee that previous ODAC versions work with Oracle 11g properly. Also if any bug is found and fixed then the fix will be released only in the next ODAC version. We don't make fixes for previous versions.
