Direct mode in FreePascal/Lazarus

I tried to migrate a Kylix project to Lazarus, only to find out that direct mode is disabled.
Will there be a version of ODAC supporting direct connection to Oracle?

We will not support the Direct mode under Lazarus because we do not distribute the source code of the Direct mode, and Lazarus requires source code for all units.
