I'm working with BDS2006 Professional:
Borland® Developer Studio für Microsoft® Windows™ Version 10.0.2445.40105 Update 2, Hotfixed
I downloaded the actuall ODAC install package for Delphi 2006 (ODAC version 6.10, filename is odac610d10pro.exe).
when i run the setup, it says
"welcome to the ... (ODAC) ... for Turbo !! Delphi wizard ..."

I can proceed and install ODAC, but after that dehlpi is broken,
I get GPFs on and on.

After deinstalling the "false" ODAC everything seems to be fine again.

what could be wrong here ????

thanx for any help - stefan

Please specify whether you have installed only Delphi for Win32 personality.

yes, i only installed Delphi for Win32 ( no .NET and no C++-Builder, if you meant that).

It is normal that ODAC installation recognizes BDS 2006 as Turbo Delphi.

Possibly, error occurs because your ODAC installation is corrupted. Try to redownload it.

it seems to work now.

the only difference I noticed was, that in my former installations I unchecked the "ODAC for .NET-Files", cause we're not working with .NET.
I ran install now with the default options( with .NET-Files) and now it seems to work. Don't know, if it has something to do with my errors ....

thanx for your replies !
