ODAC Trial Issue Problem

Post by HeinzKetchup » Mon 25 Sep 2006 16:12

Hello,

I'm using the Trial Version of ODAC. Doing Development work on my PC is not a problem because I have the Borland C++ Builder 6.0 IDE and Oracle 10g Client.

But in order to do testing to our I.T. best practices, I need to able to deliver the application on to client PC's with out the install of the Oracle 10g client.

Now I've implemented a NET version, and when I roll out the compiled "exe"cutable onto a clean test PC, I get the following error (slightly paraphrased)... ODAC Trial Version requires Borland IDE.

I thought ODAC was fully functionaly with a 2 month end period.

My I.T. department is unlikely to approve the purchase of ODAC unless I can successfully test an executable running on a PC without the Oracle Client Installed.

And FYI, we have 5 or 6 different Oracle Versions running on our entire Network, so an install of Oracle on a Client PC will NOT be happening.

Is there a chance you guys can assist me? I have a justification to present on Thursday (September 28th, 2006).

Much Appreciated!

H.

Here in my company, we uninstall the oracle client, to make the demonstration.

Thanks for the Response!

Unfortunately, I.T. is nuts about the way things get done. So a standard PC template becomes the Guinea Pig.

I'm thinking my problem is that the trial version is preventing me from testing it on a second PC that doesn't have Borland installed. I'll see if I can't try it on a few other PC's, but it's definitely not working on one of my test PC's; which is what I'll need to do a presentation on.

Erg...

But Thanks!

This seems problematic... I'm trying to Demo something that requires a registered version.

I don't know how I'm going to work this one over.
