Help needed

Post by MaGl » Wed 02 Apr 2014 12:50

Hi all

I have to install odac92d7pro on a windows 7 machine but the installation fails with a little window telling me that DASetup.exe has an invalid argument.
Any help is welcome.

Hello,

We cannot reproduce the problem on the latest ODAC version 9.2.7. If you are using an older ODAC version, please update to the latest version and try to reproduce the problem on it. If the problem repeats, please contact us again.

I used the latest version and even an older version ...
what is dasetup.exe and is it even necessary under win7 ?
Does it have something to do with MDAC?
BTW I'm running a Win7 (64bit)

You might not fully deleted the old ODAC version. Please delete ODAC, make sure the folder, in which ODAC was installed, is also deleted (if it is not - delete it), and reinstall ODAC

even the de-installation throws me a window with

DASetup.exe

Invalid Argument

If I could attach a screenshot here I would set you in the picture

For me it looks as OdacReg.exe crashes in writing some registry keys... they don't appear as they appear on my winxp-machine :-/

Solved the problem!

Made myself to a member of adminstrators-group. First I tried to install WITH an adminstrator account with running into the error
