You may be trying to open a file that is not checked out to the working copy

Post by elzermank » Thu 15 Aug 2013 13:56

Hello,

We are trying Review Assistant. Till now it looks something we can use here.
Only one problem:
A colleague of mine did a review and added some comments. When I try to open the file (with those comments) I get an error:

File cannot be opened. You may be trying to open a file that is not checked out to the working copy.

Why and how? We don't get it. Does anyone know what this problem could be?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

What VCS do you use? Make sure, that the file is located at your working copy and you have correctly specified the path to the working copy in the Review Assistant repository settings of your active project.

We use TFS 2012 en Visual Studio 2012.

I followed the steps in the link you posted, but I cannot add projects somehow, don't know why.

When I read your reaction I could have to do something with the projects. So I change the only project I have in Review Assistant; pointed to the wrong directory. But I still get the same error.

It is a strange situation. Please provide us with the following information that helps us to understand your situation:

1. A screenshot of your active Project settings. We would like to see the full path to the working directory (e.g. http://www.devart.com/review-assistant/ ... roject.png).

2. A screenshot of File Explorer, where the file is. Make sure, that your screenshot shows the full path to that file.

3. Please describe in details how exactly you try to open that file.
