Hi devart!
First of all, thank you for such amazing developer tool as CodeCompare\ReviewAssistant, i'm using this setup with great pleasure on a daily basis as an primary tool for reviewing code!

Questions is following: how to run standalone version of CodeCompare from ReviewAssistant board for a specific file.
When i right-click on file from review and select 'Compare Base and Last Revisions' it opens extra windows in VS for Code Compare. It is great, but some times i would like to run standalone version of Code Compare (not plugin in VS).
How to do this?

IDE: VS2019 Community 16.3.6.
Code Compare: 5.2.170.
OS: Win10 x64
VCS: Git 2.19.2

Maxim hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us and for your feedback!

The thing is that it's not possible at the moment, since there's no option/field where you can specify the names of the files which have to open only in the standalone version.

But it's easy to do, and I'll pass such a task to our development team.

If there's anything else we could help you with, please let us know.

Have a nice day!

Cool, thanks!
My team looking forward to see this useful feature in action!
Do we have some ETA when this will be available though?

Maxim, we've got a few questions to ask you to be able to provide you with some ETA.

Would you like to have this option in Code Compare or only in Review Assistant? If in Code Compare, then we can enable all comparisons for specific files to run only in standalone (no matter from where you launch Code Compare). Or if this option is required for Review Assistant, then it will work only for comparisons that you open from Code Review Board. Please specify.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Have a nice day!

In my opinion, the more natural way is to create new button (something labeled like "Open in new window (standalone)'') in Code Compare plugin in VisualStudio (see screenshot below).
This button should run standalone version of Code Compare for the same files which is currently visible in visual studio's Code Compare plugin window.

But i would be happy with any solution you end up, anything is easy to implement for DevArt team.
It's totally up to you guys.
