I am quite in shock about code compare not finding this difference:

If i swtich the left and right pane (as in my images), or if I turn on structural comparison, the change becomes visible.

We have to be able to rely on codecompare, if not then we can't use it anymore.

That's not possible, as these files are under copyright and they are rather large.

I guess it has to do with the fact, that these files contain some C# 7.1 syntax, which is not supported.

We are glad to inform you that the new version of Code Compare will support C# 6.0/7.0 for structural comparison. We have moved on Roslyn syntax parser.

You have 76 days left until our renewal. As long as the difference in these 2 files is not visible until then, we will move to another tool.

Does the problem reproduce only in standalone application of Code Compare or in the VS too?

It happens in both versions.

Any news on the new version? Our license has run out and we will not renew it like this.

We are working over a new version of Code Compare that will include the improved comparison of C#. Meanwhile, we suggest you try the developer build: https://www.devart.com/pub/codecompare.exe
