Code Compare Conflicts with latest VS 2017 Update

Post by cmo » Tue 30 May 2017 20:50

I just updated to the latest version of Visual Studio 2017 (version 15.2). Whenever I launch it, the message "Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 has stopped working" pops up. When I run the debugger, the underlying issue is related to code compare:
System.AccessViolationException was unhandled
Message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.AccessViolationException' occurred in Devart.CodeCompare.Utils.Vs.10.dll Additional information: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
I tried uninstalling & reinstalling code compare and the it still happens everytime. Note: Vis Studio ran fine when Code Compare was uninstalled.

Any suggestions?

Thanks! By the way, repairing my installation of VS seems to have resolved the issue.
