Hi, I recently upgraded my CodeCompare to the latest versions and the explorer integration (in the right click menu) doesn't show any Code Compare options. Yes I have this enabled in the Code Compare options. Where might I find older installs so I can use the explorer integration again?
Thanks,
Simon
older versions of Code Compare
Re: older versions of Code Compare
I think that rollback to the previous version does not affect the solution of this problem, since for a very long time nothing has been changed in the integration with Windows Explorer. In addition, several users of the previous versions reported about this issue, the cause has not been found out, consecutive uninstallation and installation of the same version helped them. We will highly appreciate if you help investigate the problem. Maybe your antivirus suggests you to run the installation in the sandbox? Are there CodeCompareExt.dll and CodeCompareExt64.dll files in the Code Compare folder (only for Windows x64)? Also, if you don't mind, check the values in the registry. Values that need to be in 32-bit Windows - http://www.devart.com/pub/codecompareregistry32.txt, in 64-bit Windows - http://www.devart.com/pub/codecompareregistry64.txt. If you still want to try to rollback to the previous version, you can get it here - http://www.devart.com/pub/codecompare2707.exe
Re: older versions of Code Compare
Hi Artem,
Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that it was Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
1. My antivirus is Microsoft Security Essentials and it didn't have any issue on install
2. Yes CodeCompareExt.dll and CodeComareExt64.dll are found in the Code Compare folder (c:\Program Files\Devart\Code Compare)
3. I went through the 64-bit registry values.
None of the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID values exist because {8C2B8E72-E398-482D-8609-FC606231624C} doesn't exist
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\COdeCompareExt.CodeCompareShlExt.1\CLSID\{8C2B8E72-E398-482D-8609-FC606231624C} doesn't exist
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved doesn't exist so none of those entries are present
I hope that helps.
Thanks,
Simon
