Visual Studio Freezes when comparing .sql files

Using Code Compare 2.70.07 with VStudio 2010 w/ TFS Integration enabled. Following either of the following set of steps will result in Visual Studio freezing and requiring to force close the application:

1. In Solution Explorer, right-click on any .sql file and select Show History. Choose two changesets and right-click and choose Compare.

2. Have a .sql file that has been edited and saved. Right-click on the file in Solution Explorer and choose Compare and then choose Latest Version.

I have no problem comparing other file types using either of these processes, only .sql files for some reason.

We cannot reproduce this bug. Such a problem occured with one of the beta versions of SQL Server Data Tools. Did you install this or a similar add-on for working with databases?

To my knowledge I have not had a Beta version of the SQL Data Tools on my machine. I had installed SQL 2012, but have since uninstalled it and all of its components (Including its version of Data Tools). Afterward I went to the SQL Data Tools page and ran the web installer to install the latest of Data Tools for SQL 2008 R2. Honestly though, I cannot remember if me doing this was before or after my original post.

I just did a comparison of a .sql file and it worked fine. As such I will keep and eye on it and if I am able to reproduce it again I will let you know.

Thanks for your time.
