Devart directories remain in %TEMP% folder

Post by N_A » Tue 10 Dec 2019 10:03

I'm manually checking my %TEMP folder in regular intervals (at least once a month) to clean it up from unnecessary files that remain there. Each time i notice several Devart_<something> directories in there. Most of them are empty though, but still, they are there. Can you please check why they remain there and delete them when not needed any more? Thanks.

Could you please provide us a screenshot displaying the folders along with the full path?

Also, please provide us the full name and version of the dbForge product and describe after what actions the folders appear.

You can send a reply straight to our support system at alexaATdevartDOTcom and supportATdevartDOTcom .

>dir dev*.*
Volume in drive C is System

Directory of C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp

12/12/2019 13:10 <DIR> Devart_wwel03fe.0m4
12/12/2019 12:33 <DIR> Devart_2ymat0v5.5hz
10/12/2019 16:47 <DIR> Devart_00swqcwc.niz
12/12/2019 11:23 <DIR> Devart_5mk0nvix.nut
0 File(s) 0 bytes

I mostly perform data/structure comparison operations but i cannot be 100% certain from what exact action those folders are produced.

The product is Studio for SQL Server Ent. Edition, 5.8.107 but these folders were also produced by previous versions of the product.

Please note that those folders do exist, but are empty.

There are also two other (empty) folders, "dbForge Studio 2019 for SQL Server" and "dbForge Studio for SQL Server" but those are only two and are not an issue (for me at least).

To correct this comment of mine, it would be nice if you could check them too, since "dbForge Studio 2019 for SQL Server" will eventually become "dbForge Studio 2020 for SQL Server", "dbForge Studio 2021 for SQL Server", etc...
