database connections after upgrade to 5.5.369

Post by MEngelbyDev » Thu 02 Aug 2018 18:04

This is an FYI.

My defined database connections that use a custom port for a TCP connection, do not work (an error message comes up saying to check my network settings) after I allow the upgrade process to re-install the product over the old one.

The only way I've been able to get my DB connections to work again is to export the settings, uninstall dbForge Studio completely with all environment options being checked to be removed, re-install the program, and then import the settings saved earlier.

It's really annoying, but I've come to accept it as I've been through the support queue so many times it is next to worthless because they never find anything wrong. I mention this again in case other souls out there are having the same problem and to highlight the workaround that works for me.

Could you please provide us a screenshot of how you specify the server name and custom port?

In dbForge, it's as follows:

Code: Select all

ServerName,port
Also, you could try recreating the connection.
