How to Skip DB Backup Step

Post by sandmanx24 » Fri 01 Jun 2018 14:46

How does one configure Schema Compare to skip the database backup step, by default?
Most my DB's are in Azure, and I have no use for this step.
Thanks.

Could you please specify the full product name?

I also put in a support request on this. This is using the latest dbForge Schema Compare for SQL Server 4.4.66. When comparing to Azure SQL Databases, even with all backup options un-checked, the synchronization wizard tries to do a backup and always fails.

I received this response from support that may be helpful for anyone using Azure SQL and the current version:

Thank you for contacting Devart support team.

We are aware of this bug, it will be fixed in one of the future product builds.
Currently, as a work around you can save a comparison file (*.scomp), then open it in the editor and set <PropertyValue Name="BackupDatabase">false</PropertyValue>

We will fix this issue in the next product build and will notify you once it's available for downloading.
