Very Time Consuming process to Refresh Source Folder in Version Control for Enterprise Version of SQL Server (not MYSQL)

Post by nguaetta » Tue 16 Aug 2016 16:22

I have a larger database with multiple terabytes of data on it. When versioning, the checking and the actual commit process is relatively normal. But when first opening the source control manager and refreshing the database, the “refresh source folder” 3rd component of the process takes around two hours. This obviously is far too long to commit changes, etc.

Is there anything my company can do to accelerate this process?

Unfortunately, we have no solution for this. Though, in the next product builds, we will investigate the possibility to improve the performance of this process.
