my db diagram in the recent past had tablenames listed as just simple tablenames, not db.schema.tablename.

i'm sure that somewhere in the options, i enabled three part naming for scripts or something else, but i don't want that to apply to my diagram and i don't remember where i set this.

my question is this: how do i change the titles of the tables in the db diagram from db.schema.tablename to simply tablename?

if there's one setting for this feature that also applies to scripts or whatever, that's unfortunate, but if there's not, i'd like to change only the db diagram format.

Could you please provide us a screenshot of this and specify what version of dbForge you are using?

Please also provide us the dbForge settings file that can be generated as follows:

1. Select 'Tools -> Import and Export Settings...' from the main menu. The 'Import and Export Settings' wizard opens.
2. Select the 'Export selected environment settings' option in the wizard and click 'Next'.
3. Select the 'All settings' option and complete the wizard.

this problem appears to have solved itself.
i think that what happened is that the Database combobox in the toolbar became highlighted when the diagram was opened and the combobox was pointing to the wrong database.
i don't know how to make the combobox visible when the diagram is open now and i don't know how i made it visible then.
i eventually closed dbForge after i first noticed the problem (but not before i spent an hour resizing the table objects to accomodate the three part names). when i reopened dbForge and reopened the diagram, the three part names had reverted back to one part names and the combobox was not visible. then i got to resize the table objects once again.
