TFS Client not found

Post by emenard » Wed 02 Apr 2014 18:07

Hi,

I'm trying to create a new version control alias to our TFS 2008 server but I'm getting the following error message:

"TFS client not found"

dbForge is installed on a dev virtual machine (Windows Server 2008 Enterprise) with Visual Studio 2008 which is connected to and using TFS. But there is no standalone client.

Please help,
Eric

You have to install a TFS client in order to connect to a TFS server with dbForge.

I have. However, it is integrated within Visual Studio. Yet, dbForge doesn't seem to see it.

Could you please let us know what version of the file Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client located in %windir% you have?

Hi,

I'm having the same issue. Just installed Team Explorer for Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 but the "TFS Client not found" error message continues...

I'm running DB Forge Studio on windows 8.1 with VS 2013 Ultimate.

Could you please provide us a screenshot of the content of the folder C:\Windows\assembly\ having it scrolled to the 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client' Assembly Name.

You can send a reply straight to our support system at supportATdevartDOTcom, so we will keep further correspondence with you on this issue via e-mail.

We were able to reproduce this issue and will fix it in one of the next product builds. We will notify you once it's available for downloading.
