Transport level error

Post by cjkeller » Fri 24 Feb 2012 22:02

I am getting a random error that occurs when I am viewing a table data and/or running queries while viewing the table data. It says "A transport level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (Provider, error: 0 - an existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)"

I have to close the tab I have open and reopen it to continue on. This error happens quite a bit.

Is this something my sql server doing to the program? How do I stop this? I looked at the SQL Server Log file and I don't see any error messages for the time I was disconnected. I'm very new with SQL server and may not be looking at the correct log file.

SQL server 2005
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.1399.00
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 2005.090.1399.00
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514 (win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850)
Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.5448
Operating System 6.1.7601

Thanks.

Christy

The problem is not connected with dbForge Data Studio for SQL Server. It may happen due to the connection with the server being lost for some reason, the service being restarted, or some other reason that is not connected with the product. So you would need to check whether the server is accessible from the PC generally at the time when you're getting this error message.

I download the new update and have been using it for over an week. I am not getting these issues at all. The program has not crashed on me and it was crashing at least two or three times a day (and I sent all these crash reports in).

And I do like the upgrades you made. Very nice!
