Source Control - Shared DB Development

Post by erikd » Wed 01 Apr 2020 06:46

Hi, I recently purchased dbForge Source Control and have some questions. Many developers work on a single shared DB linked ti Git.

1. How can I lock a an object (proc, function etc), so others cannot edit it?

2. When I press Commit Button I can also see changes the other developers made with no corresponding name, which is very confusing. So when we are making a lot of changes in a code, there is no way to see which change is mine. Is there a way to see who made the changes and sort them this way, so I would not commit someone else's change, which is wrong?

Thank you

There is no such possibilities in dbForge at the moment. Though, it's in our roadmap for the next product versions.

Thank you for your reply. To be honest I purchased Source Control because, according to features, it supports Shared DB development. But does not really.

If you say it will support these features in next product versions, what does it mean? The very next version within a month, a year?

Thank you
