I am using a dark background in SSMS query window. All the highlighting that SQL Complete uses is white. The SQL text is white also. There's not enough contrast for me to be able to read the text under the highlight.
SQL Complete should find what background color is being used so that it uses a contrasting highlight color.
Also the highlight color should be a setting in Options.

Also, we suspect that you may need to setup the item foreground and background for the 'Highlighted Reference' option which is in the 'Environment -> Fonts and Colors' section of the 'Options' window that can be opened by selecting 'Tools -> Options...' from the main menu.
