Cannot open any models in Entity Developer

Post by kathC » Thu 14 Oct 2021 05:16

Hi,

I suddenly cannot open any models in Entity Developer. Everything was working fine previously. Now I get this error when I try to open Entity Developer and models.

I have tried uninstalling, deleting all files and folders and those in the registry and reinstalled again. I'm still getting the same error. Version 6.11.1219. How can I get this to work again?

Thanks!

Yes same here. Complete company can not work with ED at he moment! Even Standalone ED can not be opened anymore.
Maybe something with Windows 10 Updates? There is a CrashReport Window, but it is hidden and I can not bring it to front. Somehow your Splash Screen is hiding that!

Got the Report Window in front of SplashScreen and sent the report to you:

This is the error:

Hello there,

For immediate resolution, please check your windows update and uninstall the latest security updates in update history (circa 14-15 Oct 2021).

I get my instance of Entity Developer running normally again after I uninstall & reboot my machine. Hope this work for you too.

I was able to uninstall one of the updates, and it still didn't work. Although there's still a security update that I can't uninstall. I went to uninstall update in control panel, but I can't uninstall it. Tried using command prompt but it says can't uninstall because it's required by the computer

Hi,

I had the same issue today and for me it was:

KB5006670

After uninstalling and rebooting my machine, I was able to open the designer again.

Thanks jatmikadotcom for the tipp!

Hope you guys get your model/designer working again as well.

Have a nice weekend
Markus

The bug with launching Entity Developer after applying Windows 10 Update KB5006670 and Windows 11 Update KB5006674 is fixed. Please upgrade to Entity Developer v6.12.1354. Refer to viewtopic.php?f=32&t=48906.
