Hello,
I recently upgraded to the latest Entity Developer Express 5.5.139 and the plugin has stopped working from with Visual Studio (08 & 10).
It seem to have been working fine until the previous version ~5.0
Please let me know what I should do.
Thanks,
O

Please give us the following information:
1) describe the problem (the text of the exception, call stack) or incorrect behaviour
2) the edition of your Visual Studio
3) the steps we should follow to reproduce the issue in our environment

Seems like the Addin does not load up both in Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010.
I can not add a new DevArt item or open it within Studio.
It happened after I upgraded to 5.5.139 from 5.0~
I also tried unistalling to the prior version and seems like even that misbehaved(didnt seem like I was able to unistall 5.5.139 completely)

Seems like I am good on this now. Had to rollback to previous version after removing Entity Framework from locations described in some other post.
Thanks for your support.

If you encounter the issue again, please specify:
1) the exact text of the error which describes the "plugin has stopped working" problem
2) editions of your Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2010
3) were there any errors during Entity Developer installation (check \Program Files (x86)\Devart\EntityDeveloper\Install.log if it exists)?

If installation encounters any problem, try reinstalling Entity Developer in the following way:
1) uninstall Entity Developer and other Devart ADO.NET products
2) make sure that there are no Devart.* and policy.*.Devart.* files in the following folders:
* \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Devart\
* GAC 2.0 (\Windows\assembly\) and GAC 4.0 (\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\)
* \Program Files (x86)\Devart\
* \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Devart\
* \Documents and Settings\All Users\Devart\EntityDeveloper\ (clear the folder)
* \Documents and Settings\All Users\Devart\dotConnect\ (clear the folder)
3) run installation of Entity Developer via its right click > Run as administrator menu
