Hi,

When opening Visual Studio and creating a new Windows Form Application, adding a Devart Entity Model doesn't work. The progress bar spins and then nothing happens.

I am clicking "Add --> "New Item" and selecting "Devart Entity Model" and clicking "Add".

I have tried re-installing the newest version of dotConnect Pro for Postgresql.

Please help.

I have the same issue using dotConnect for MySQL and a Web Forms project.

I have similar symptoms:
"Project->Add New Item->Devart NHibernate Model" does nothing.
"Tools->Entity Developer->Database Explorer" does nothing.
"Tools->Entity Developer->Options" opens "Options" dialog but "Entity Developer" item and all sub items are empty with "An error occured loading this property page" label.
Reinstallation of "Entity Developer" does not help with it.
I have planned to use ED with NHibernate & MS SQL.

Could you please specify the following:
1) The exact version (x.x.xxx) of Entity Developer you are using. You can find the version of your current build in the Tools > Entity Developer > About menu of Visual Studio. Have you ever installed Entity Developer on your workstation before ?
2) The version of your Visual Studio;
3) The names and exact versions (x.xx.xxx) of all Devart products that are installed on your machine (SQL Complete, Code Compare, dotConnect, etc);
4) Have you tried to create Devart NHibernate Model in the standalone Entity Developer?

4.2.120 (Express). ED was not installed before. "Tools > Entity Developer > About" menu item doesn't invoke any reaction

Code Compare 2.50.13, dotConnect for Oracle 6.30.165.0

Yes, it was created successfully

dotConnect for Oracle and Entity Developer product use common assemblies (EntityDeveloper.Orm.Common.dll etc).
The products of compatible versions have the same release date:

So, Entity Developer v 4.2.120 is compatible with dotConnect for Oracle v 6.70.293.

We recommend installing compatible versions.

Same issue after buying entity developer, removing the trial version and installing the full profession version (last version). The menus are there Tools > entity developer, but they do nothing. entity developer is not in the list of "open with" for .edml file.

Please reinstall Entity Developer in the following way:
1) uninstall Entity Developer and other Devart ADO.NET products
2) make sure that there are no Devart.* and policy.*.Devart.* files in the following folders:
* \Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 11.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies\Devart\
* GAC 2.0 (\Windows\assembly\) and GAC 4.0 (\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\)
* \Program Files (x86)\Devart\
* \Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Devart\
* \Documents and Settings\All Users\Devart\EntityDeveloper\ (clear the folder)
* \Documents and Settings\All Users\Devart\dotConnect\ (clear the folder)
3) run installation of Entity Developer Professional Edition via its right click > Run as administrator menu

If this doesn't help, specify:
1) the exact version of your Entity Developer
2) the exact version and edition of Visual Studio
3) have you chosen the option to integrate Entity Developer into Visual Studio when installing Entity Developer?
