Entity Developer 2.8.112 crash

Post by Alladin » Wed 07 Apr 2010 11:21

Tools -> Customize... -> crash

Cannot load file or assembly 'DevArt.XUtils, Version=6.3.4.0'

Probably hiding DevExpress libraries under DevArt label went postal :)

This looks like a problem of an old version. What Entity Developer version are you using?

We do not use 6.3.4.0 version in the latest release.
Do you have OraDeveloper installed?
I would ask you to attach the instance of Visual Studio with another one and catch the exception details (Call Stack):
- Open 2 instances of Visual Studio.
- In the first instance, open the project in which you wish to add the model.
- In the second instance, go to Tools->Attach to process...
- Select the first instance of Visual Studio(devenv.exe with opened project) in the process list.
- Go to Debug->Exceptions and check the Common Language Runtime Exceptions checkbox.
- Ensure that the Enable Just My Code checkbox (Tools->Options->Debugging) is unchecked.
- Perform the steps to get the error in the first instance of Visual Studio.
If the error was catched, please provide us the type of the exception and the call stack.

Entity Developer is started as standalone application.

Just install your package on fresh machine, start EntityDeveloper, go Tools -> Customize... -> crash...

Tested on both Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2 x64...

Thank you for the report, we have found the problem.
As a temporary workaroud you can add the following lines to the EntityDeveloper.exe.config file:

Code: Select all
