Upgrade 4.1 -> 4.2 issue

Post by I-Vladimir » Mon 23 Jan 2012 17:25

Hi,
4.1.64 trial version was installed.
Upgraded to 4.2.11
1. Trial version says trial period expired - should be 28 days
2. Any changes in Linq to SQL diagram in VS don't get reflected in designer.cs file. Running custom tool from VS Solution Explorer return an error: No LinqToSQL generator found.
3. Same issue and with Express version.

Thanks,

These issues may be caused by an installation error. Please try performing the following:
- uninstall Entity Developer;
- clear the Program Files\Devart and Program Files\Common Files\Devart folders;
- remove all Devart.* and policy.*.Devart.* files from the GAC;
- re-install Entity Developer.

Please tell us if this helps.

Thank you for your assistance, we have reproduced the issue with the custom tool. We will inform you when it is fixed.

The problem is that the proper generator was not registered in your system during the installation of Entity Developer. As a temporary workaround, you can register this generator manually. I will send you two .reg files for this, please check that the letter is not blocked by your mail filter.

Registry keys added, but that didn't fix it.
It looks {B02161E9-1EE2-4d7c-8CF8-ACDE43708687} definition still missing.

The issues with the LINQ to SQL generator and updating identity fields are fixed in the latest 4.2.138 build of Entity Developer. The new build can be downloaded from
http://www.devart.com/entitydeveloper/download.html
(the trial and free versions) or from Registered Users' Area (for users with active subscription only).
