License not valid (code 7) using reverse engineering wizaard

Post by Michael_Grønbæk » Tue 12 Jan 2010 12:50

Hi Team,

I have been using Entity Developer for dotConnect Oracle several times to create a LINQ-to-SQL DataContext by using the Create From Database wizard.

Now I am about to use it again, might be a newer version of Entity Developer version 2.20.38, and I now get the error code listed below:

License not valid (code 7). Review Licensing topic in dotConnect ...

This error is provided to me whether or not I provide Oracle login credentials in the wizard.

I never before have had to create a License file prior to using the Entity Developer tool in order to create DataContext from an existing database.

Is my license limited over time or what seems to be the problem?

As I am about to create a new DataContext to be utilized in a new Visual Studio 2008 project I don't think that I need a License yet and nor have I ever needed to create such a license file before.

Why do I get this errer now?

Best regards,
Michael
