Hi,

I have a pre-sales question, is a source code license available for LinqConnect?

Thanks,

At the moment, LinqConnect source code is not included into the installation package. We plan to implement the edition of LinqConnect which will contain the sources, but cannot provide any timeframe for this.

Provided that you purchase LinqConnect now, you will be able to upgrade for a lower cost when the source edition is available.

Need for Source

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply.

We are currently evaluating your product for a port of a fairly large project that was built with Linq to SQL.

In this project there was an entire data access layer built upon linq to sql and some of it's quirky behavior.

We are very impressed with your products capabilities, however, a source license is absolutely necessary. Since swapping out L2S for LinqConnect will undoubtly create some challanges that with access to the source would cut the development time significantly.

We are willing to pay a few multiples of the current site licensing costs for this.

Please feel free to contact me offline.

Thanks again,

KShaban

We will contact you as soon as we have any new information about the source edition of LinqConnect.

Update on Source Edition

Hi Again,

Just wanting to check-in with you guys to see if there has been any update as to when an edition of LinqConnect including source will be released.

As I explained, having access to source for us would be the only practical way to upgrade our current project to LinqConnect.

Any response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

KShaban

We still cannot provide any timeframe for the source edition of LinqConnect.

Please tell us if you have any suggestions concerning the LinqConnect functionality. You can also modify the code generation templates to obtain more flexibility with using LinqConnect. For more information about changing the templates, please refer to the 'Common Concepts' -> 'Working with Templates' -> 'Creating and Editing Templates' topic of the Entity Developer documentation.

Update on Source Edition Release

Hi,

I am just checking back as to availablity of a source code edition for LinqConnect.

As I have stated before, this is a fairly large project that is highly dependant on Linq to SQL and our project manager will not allow us to proceed with any ORM unless we have a source license (BTW, they are will to pay a premium for this).

Please let me know either way, as I personally feel your product is a perfect match for this project.

Thanks again,

KShaban
