Is there a test version of dotConnect for PostgreSQL?

Hi folks,
at the moment I'm developing a program with the help of npgsql. I'm experiencing a big problem when dealing with bytea data. Npgsql throws an OutOfMemoryException when calling fill or update on the dataadapter. If dotConnect doesn't show this problem I would be interested in buying. Is there a test version or evaluation version where I can test out if dotconnect for PostgreSQL solves my problem?
Can some of the guys around here tell me if the probloem above occurs in dotconnect.
