Hi guys,

Has anyone encountered this behaviour? None of my PostgreSQL tools are working. If I launch the Dataset/Migration/Upgrade Wizard I get the message "Unable to start wizard. No project selected". If I select the "License Information" menu, I get the error message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

I could not find any documentation on these utilities to verify that I was using them correctly. Any ideas?

Have you opened your project before launching the Dataset/Migration/Upgrade Wizards? The License Information dialog validates the projects from the current solution if their license resources are correct.

What version of dotConnect for PostgreSQL are you using?

Yes the project is open. I am using version v4.50.33.0.

FYI: The tools aren't working with the sample applications either. I'm stumped.

Tell us please the version of your Visual Studio.

I am using version 9.0.30729.1 SP ... In friendlier terms that would be VS 2008 SP1. I've pasted a very detailed list of what's installed on my machine below ...

We cannot reproduce the problem. Please post here the call stack when NRE ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") appears. To obtain the call stack, connect from another instance of Visual Studio (Debug | Attach to Proccess) to the process of your current Visual Studio where you load your project. Before attaching don't forget to make these settings in VS that you are using to debug the other one: a) in the (Debug | Exceptions) window check Common Language Runtime Exceptions; b) in the (Tools | Options) window, Debugging | General - uncheck Enable Just My Code (Managed Only).
