I am in the same boat as this fellow, as I am unable to change the default provider in IIS7.

I searched the forums and was unable to find a solution to the problem...

How do I proceed, since I can't even add the AspPgSqlMemberShipProvider in IIS7 as the default provider for .Net Users and .Net Roles in IIS7?

I am running on Vista obviously

Any help is greatly appreciated as I am unable to move forward until I can actually make a connection. Thanks...

I was able to answer my own problem....

Tucked away far on the very bottom of the page was this nice, juicy little tidbit that I overlooked.

(From the deployment documentation)
"Keep in mind that web application are usually run in a partially trusted environment. dotConnect for PostgreSQL requires medium trust plus SocketPermission"

Maybe using bold on some of the key parts of the documentation other than the document section headings could help somewhat?

Nonetheless... everything is working like a charm.
