Error after update to version 8.4.4 from 8.3.2 in Oracle

Post by cointec » Wed 22 Sep 2021 07:08

After update to 8.4.4 from 8.3.2 I get an exception when trying to insert a record in a table with a LOB field.

ORA-24816: Expanded non LONG bind data supplied after actual LONG or LOB column.

That did not happen in 8.3.2

Any clue?

Please try to verify the described behavior using the latest version UniDAC 9.0.1

We upgraded from 8.3.2 to 9.0.1 and have the same problem.
In 8.3.2 there were no problems, in 9.0.1 passing a very long string (more then 5000 characters) as parameter of type ftMemo gave errors when executing the query.
Short strings do not give any problems.

We've reproduced the issue and fixed it. The fix will be included in the next build of our product. As a workaround, we can send you a night UniDAC build including the required changes. For this provide us with your license number and IDE version you are interested in For your convenience, please use the e-support form https://www.devart.com/company/contactform.html
