'No data'error dBase IV

How do I deal with the dbf file error message 'No data'error? It shows up for one dbf file but not others. Why does dBase IV gives me this pop up every time? Thanks very much in advance for all your help.

Please use the contact form at our website
https://www.devart.com/company/contactform.html and send us all the table files (.dbf and index files) opening of which causes the 'No data' error.

If you want to link a .dbf file, you should use the shortname (8 characters)provided by DOS. You can find the generated shortname by typing 'DIR /X' in the command prompt from MS Dos. Maybe you should apply the same in MS Access. More indo:
