Hello,
I tried use the Trial Version of Unidac V. 7.1.3 with Delphi XE5 Update 2 to connect
a DB2 Database on a IBM Iseries / AS400 server.
Server OS: V6 R1
Client: Windows 7 Pro / IBM i Accesss for Windows V7 R1 SL SI64724
First of all the ODBC-Provider to the database works fine.
Then i tried a connection with the DB2 Provider, that does't work.
In the conection dialog i fill in provider: DB2, server, port 0 or 446, username an password
By pressing the connect button i get the message "odbc driver manager data source name not found and no default driver specified".
But where i have to specify a data source name?
Is unidac DB2 provider compatible with DB2 on Iseries?
Best regards
Markus
Unidac DB2 Iseries Connection
Re: Unidac DB2 Iseries Connection
For work, DB2UniProvider uses the "IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER" function, therefore, to work with a database using UniDAC it is necessary that this driver was installed in the system. Please make sure that "IBM DB2 ODBC DRIVER" is installed in your environment, try installing a test connection to it, and then test the DB2UniProvider work again.
