Hello,

Please specify the edition of UniDAC you are using – Standard, Professional, or Source, the version of your IDE, and when this error occurs – when compiling UniDAC packages, running *.bat file for compiling UniDAC *.bpl, when compiling your application using UniDAC components.

I'm using Professional (without source) of UniDAC, and Delphi XE.

I think that you missed some RES files when making this build, and just need to create the build again including these missing files.

Hello,

The DBAccess.Res file should be located in the ..\Devart\UniDac for RAD Studio XE\Lib\ folder, please check if it is there. If it is not available in this folder, try to reinstall UniDAC. If it does not help, please specify an e-mail address to which I can send this file.

Hello,

After doing a clean install, I can confirm that this file is not available in this folder. There are many RES files that are missing ( as I can see from the last release 3.70.0.18 ) My suggestion is that you just update your download so that everyone can benefit, otherwise everyone will complain about this error.

Hello,

We checked UniDAC Professional version 3.70.0.19 on different IDEs and OSs, and it is installed and works correctly. Also several users have already downloaded and installed this version of UniDAC and they did not encounter such problem.
Please try to download the latest UniDAC version once more, turn your antivirus programs off and install UniDAC. Maybe your antivirus program deletes or does not let *.res files through.

When you tested, did you test with 'clean' install?

Ie. completely uninstall previous version and then install new version.

Hello,

I cannot reproduce the problem.
I've installed Delphi XE and the latest version of UniDAC onto clean Windows 7 x64, and all files including the *.res ones were installed correctly into the needed folders.
Maybe your problem is connected with the antivirus program, security settings, etc. Try to use the /force key when installing UniDAC.

P.S. As I've written earlier, some users have already installed the new version of UniDAC and everything works correctly: http://www.devart.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 1565#71565 .

Dear AlexP,

Did you try to download the exact same file that is available on the Registered Users page? Maybe you are trying with your own build.

I can guarantee that I tried :
1. Shut off Antivirus
2. Use /force parameter
3. Install to different locations (eg. c:\unidac)

I tried multiple times. All times same result - the DBAccess.res file is missing.

Please please please! Update the download file for UniDAC Pro for Delphi XE with a proper download.

Thanks and regards,
Steve F

Hello,

Have the same problem, I think about buying the unidac controls and wanted to check the test version to ease my decision. I have just worked with ODAC until now and it's really good, so I wanted to check if UniDAC is of same quality.

Unfortunately I get the error: Cannot find DBAccess.res.
I'm using Delphi XE Pro and version 3.70.0.19 of UniDAC on a win7 32bit system. The installation worked well, all controls are ready and the library paths are well. But there's no DBAccess.res in the lib-directory, just a DBAccess.dcu. I have checked my whole system, there's no DBAccess.res.
Where can I get this res-file? I hope you have an advice for me. Thanks, I don't want to buy it if it does not work fine. Otherwise, I would like to work with UniDAC.

Hi,
The UniDAC components are generally of a very high quality and the main helpful feature is that you can access many databases with one set of components (Pro version). Also they keep fixing issues with every new release. Overall I am very satisfied customer.

It is just with this release, they made a slip-up with the setup file that is released to the licensed user download area, and they just have to fix it by including that missing RES file.. well I guess its weekend today so lets hope this is done by Monday.

Steve F

hi stevel, if you can access unidac source zip.you can copy the res file from the source zip.and it works.

Hi Xalion,

I am not licensed for source version.
