SDAC to UNIDAC Migration for C++?

Hello,

Does the migration wizard support C++ projects?

I'm converting a C++ Builder application from SDAC to UNIDAC, and the migration wizard does not seem to be working. It reports "success" but no files have any changes.

Can I have SDAC and UNIDAC installed in the same IDE?

Hello,

Unfortunately Migration Wizard is available only for Delphi IDE.
Product compatibility is provided for the current build only. To make SDAC and UniDAC work simultaneously on the same IDE you should use the latest versions of them. The latest compatible versions are the following: SDAC 5.00.0.2, UniDAC 3.50.0.13.

Okay. Thank you. I hope you can update the Wizard to support C++ in a future version. Meanwhile, it would be good to update the Wizard and the documentation to specify that it does not work for C++. I spent about an hour on it, thinking I must be doing something wrong.

We don't plan to support Migration Wizard for C++ Builder, as there are very few users, who needs this functionality.

I can understand your decision, but you should include this information in your website and in the user interface of the migration wizard so that C++ users don't waste their time.

Do you have a list of areas where the C++ support is not equal to the Delphi support?

Thank you for your inquiry. We will add this information into UniDAC Reference Manual and on the website.
We don't have any support list for C++Builder because Migration Wizard is the only feature that isn't compatible with C++Builder. All other features are supported by both Delphi and C++Builder IDE.
