CTR cipher instead of CBC in secureBridge

Post by Olive » Fri 09 Aug 2013 16:38

Hello SecureBridge team!

Thank you for the great component, it is really useful!
I wonder if it would be possible to implement in the next release the "CTR" cipher: nowadays, more and more servers have disabled CBC cipher because it is unsecure, so my program which relies on SecureBridge is not able to connect to several servers.

Could you tell me if it would be possible to replace the current CBC cipher in SecureBridge with a more secure one, such as CTR?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Just adding a "me too!"; 2 years later, OpenSSH disables CBC ciphers by default, and many others are following suite.

Adding another "me too!" A client of ours has disabled CBC ciphers and require us to use CTR otherwise we cannot collect their data.

Could you estimate when update with ctr cipher will be available?
Our costumers expected us to give them the date.

Likewise we would appreciate an estimate as to when an update will be available, as too we have customers who are waiting for an update.

We will support the CTR ciphers in the next build of the SecureBridge. We plan release one in the next month.

Also adding another "Me too!".

The next month is nearly over. When will the announced release be available ? We require it urgently.
