Simple SSH server issues with putty

Post by snorkel » Tue 10 Jun 2014 20:19

I am trying to make a simple ssh server that will have one user and just tunnel stuff.
So I set up a server and storage component created the keys etc.
When I connect via putty it asks me to accept the key and then I can logon with the single user I added via the storage component. Right after I enter the password and hit enter the PuTTY client just closes no errors nothing.

I have the OSAuthenticaion option checked as well.

Just a fyi,
my server works fine with a securebridge client, just refuses to work when I try to connect with putty.

I might be a version out of date on my windows PC, will check and see if that resolves the putty issue.

To solve the problem with Putty connection, try checking the "Don't start a shell or command at all" checkbox on the SSH tab.
