SDAC vs ADO.NET 2

What are the advantages and disadvantages of SDAC against ADO.NET 2 for accessing SQL Server?

(Note: we are considering either to use "Delphi 7 to access to SQL server" or "migrate to Visual Studio/delphi.net to access to SQL Server".)
